Q1) The article suggests SMBs to innovate in the areas of customer service, product knowledge and niche product offerings to compete in the e-commerce market place with the giants like Amazon.

While Amazon is investing in futuristic technologies like drone deliveries, automated warehousing, same-day delivery, offering products at lower prices etc. and has emerged as game-changer in the e-commerce industry, SMBs who don't have the resources and money to innovate the way Amazon does, can still attempt on innovations by making small investments in Technology space.

Though the article highlights how Amazon is far ahead in the innovation space, it is not completely right that SMBs can't innovate the way that Amazon does as it all takes an idea and a fool-proof implementation of the same to make a difference. By focusing on idea generation, development and execution, SMBs can innovate better. They can also partner with technology companies to develop and use ground-breaking technologies that could make the difference.
