Each assistant the dean assigns to the adviser's office will reduce the average time required to approve a schedule by 0.25 minute, down to a minimum time of 1.00 minute to approve a schedule. How many assistants should the dean assign to the adviser?

Service rate, = 60/2 = 30 per hour

W = L/ = 14/28 = 0.5 hour

Wq = Lq/ = 13.07/28 = 0.467 hour

b) With one assistant, New service rate, = 60/(2-0.25) = 34.29

W = 1/(-) = 1/(34.29-28) = 0.159 hour = 9.54 minutes

Therefore, 1 assistant needed to be added.
