How would you have advised Henri to respond to the increase in red snapper cost? Shanna knew it was true that Mark, the restaurant's manager, did keep the pressureExplanation / Answer
1-I will get the motive behind hike in price and convey the returing guest about how Chez Paul was forced to increase the price though it know that the outcome is not positive. I will explain the customer about how the input cost have increased and the supply of inputs are shortage which eventually lead to increase in menu price.I will elaborate to the customer about how painful it for Chez Paul to increase price and it was difficult to serve the product at earlier price which can fulfill the taste and prefernce of customers.
2-If I am a regular customer and the snapper is my favorite then i will continue consumption of snapper if I have satisfied my utility with this increase in price.Regular customer generally donot put more emphasis on price when we love to eat a product and in this case price elasticity is zero. When i know that price increased due to increase in input cost I won't change my mind on consumption of snapper.
3-I will advise Henri on not to pass the entire burden of increase on cost to customers directly rather to increase the menu price upto some extent.Henry has also an option of gradually increasing the price so that customers won't feel increase of price that much as they will react on sudden hike of price in this level.
