Jack and Jill were students at the University of Kansas. They decided to live together and told their landlady they were married. Three years later, when they graduated, Jack had a job in CA and Jill had a job in NY. When they split up Jill asked for half of Jack’s checking and savings accounts, half of the property they had acquired while living together and alimony. Jack refused stating they were never married. Jill has filed suit in the State District Court. If you were the judge how would you rule and why?

I would take them as HUsband and wife, they have Informed the same to the landlady (Evidence) They have lived the married life for 3 years So, as per the rules and evauation of the property Jill is eligible for Alimony.
