The top advantage of HTML based emails is creating style and images with aesthetic appeal. The top advantage with sending text-based emails is reliability that your recipients can read it as well as lower email size. Who chooses which method? You'll see businesses with mass-market emails usually sending heavy HTML emails. I don't have the statistics in front of me, but I'm sure HTML-based emails from companies selling stuff get far more clicks than text-based emails. If your goal is to absolutely make sure all your recipients can read your message without redirecting to SPAM or improper formatting, then sending text-based emails is the safe bet.

The advantages and disadvantages of text and html emails are:
Advantages:
- Text email are very easy way to send messages. so that we can reply to the sender in text format.
- Text emails can easily read by everyone because there is no special feature to change the font its the default font to read.
- Text emails can done in any type.of devices and we can do it with default softwares.
disadvantages:
- Text emails dont have special features to change the text.
- In text emails we cannot attach a image or symbols in it.
- We can only text the message in the text emails we cannot attach any type of images and symbols
HTML email:
Advantages:
- HTML email have the alot of features like we can insert images and symbols.
- HTML email has different types of word formats and styles.
- HTML email can be done by any devices which are handy like mobiles ipad tablets etc.
Disadvantages:
- HTML emails are not compatable with every little devices.
- HTML emails have compatbilities issues like if we send symbols and images then people who are using text format emails cannot see the messages from html emails.
- Even many mobile devices dont have the html type compatability
- most of the HTML emails are consider as spam.
