Suppose that you were designing a computer game without visual output (accessible for someone who was blind, but also appealing to those who are not blind). This will be an adventure style game where the player moves through passages and into rooms. The theme is your choice. Your game must have challenges (for example, monsters that appear and must be shot or hit). There will, of course, need to be a goal (such as a treasure).

Describe a complete run through the game. Be sure to include the following:

Audience & genre: what type of game it is, and who will likely play it

Theme

Goals: goals of the game, how to win/succeed

Mechanics: what the player does to achieve goals

What input and output devices are used? How are they used?  

Flowboard. This should show the progression of the game, from beginning to end, and the choices available to the players at each point.

Explanation / Answer

Title of the game: Save the Hostage
Audience & Genre: Targeted towards children aged( 7-14). Its a fighting game.
It will be work in single player mode

The game has different levels, each level plays out on different geographies like desert,water etc.
The hero of the game has to free hostages related to him which are his friends and colleagues.
At end of each level the player frees a hostage who gives him information which he will need to carry out the next level.
The game works out on variety of inputs through keyboard and mouse. The sound effects helps user to determine what kind of challenge he is facing. During a challenge if the user comes across sound of fire, then he has to jump which can be done by pressing J(for jump) long. If a monster comes in front of him then sound effect will help him to decide upon the position of monster. The left and right speaker will help in directing if the monster is in left direction or right direction. If the monsters are in both side then both speakers will work.
The user can attack monsters by different ways punch, kick and guns in special cases. User can kick and punch in various position i.e. in sitting and standing position. All these controls will be through different keys. In case of level up the rescued hostage will tell the player about new found power which can be guns or missiles, these additional powers will be handled through mouse keys and will only last for sometime. The timing of these powers will be communicated through a countdown timer which will have a timer sound and whose intensity will increase when the power is about to end. The player will have chances during the game to gain these powers back by finishing the monsters quickly. These powers will help the player to kill the monsters quickly.The player will have three lives in start, once the player gets killed in between the game, he will have to start the game from the same level again(if he has any lives left) or else the game will restart.
The player will have the option to gain lives in between the game and increase his lives from by drault three lives.
Once the game ends user will have the option to save his game score along with his name. Top five game scores wiill be saved in the game. During game if any user exceeds the past scores, he will be notified by audio effect.
During game the player will also have to give attention to the amount of life left. If the character's life reaches the zero, the player dies in the game. If player's life is in danger level then it will be notified by beep sounds.
In between the game the player will have the option to gain points and life by answering puzzles in between.The puzzles will be related to that level and will be communicated to the player using audio, the player will have to answer those puzzles by typing the answer through keyboard.
