In reading your response about your first hand experience working for Home Depot, it sounds like they do live up to their values as stated on the website. "The Home Depot's values guide the beliefs and actions of all associates on a daily basis. Our values are the fabric of the company's unique culture and are central to our success". (Home Depot 2017). Its nice to hear about a large company that not only focuses on the customer but the employees that are the first line to the customer. According to Academy of Management Journal, employees' positive affective displays have been widely used as a strategic tool to enhance service experience and strengthen customer relationships.
Explanation / Answer
As we know that leadership is an ability to make transformational change in regards to some inherent problem. Lukasz (2017) has proposed that humility enables a person to become a good leader. Personality traits of great leaders shows a unique level of consistency, visionary outreach, strong motivational public speech etc. one can also says that actions speaks louder than words. The leaders at Home Depot Company preserve its foundational values, beliefs, and strategic goals alive. They always try to satisfy the needs and aspiration of internal as well as external stakeholders.
Leaders play their strong motivational and directional role whether they are leading a small enterprise or a larger company. We can see the corporate world to analyze the style of great leaders like Steve Jobs, Ratan Tata, Bill gates, Richard Branson, Ford etc. to get some unique traits to frame our theoretical understanding.
Lukasz has rightly emphasized that leaders must have humble approach. We can say that at present era the leaders like Mark Jukerberg, Sundar Pichai etc. doing the same philosophy.
