Is it possible for a book to appear in the BOOK table without appearing in the PRODUCT table? Why or why not?Explanation / Answer
Question 3 :
Its not needed that every instance in the Product table to be associated with an instance in the CD table because the product can be either of the three types or it can be neither.
product table holds only the basic details of product but not the type of it and it can of any type.
Question 4:
Its not possible for a BOOK instance to appear in book table without an instance in Product table because there is a foregin key constraint applied on the prod_num attribute of the book table with relation to the same key in the product table where it is the primary key.
In order to define a prod_num in book table ,firstly a record with that particular prod_num as primary key should be defined in the product table which is identified by book table when creating a record for the same product number without violating foreign key constraint.
