Pinging 10.16.100.100 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 10.16.100.100: bytes=32 time<15ms TTL=255
Reply from 10.16.100.100: bytes=32 time<15ms TTL=255

B). Explain the ARP table entries for 10.15.1.101 and 10.15.5.225?
C).Explain the original ARP entry and how it got in the table.
D).Explain why the new entries are in Jims ARP table?
Explanation / Answer
ANSWERS:
a) After "ping 10.14.10.103" , if we are getting a reply then this means that a device with the same ip address is in our network, so entry for that ip will be made in our arp-a table with all other ips we got from the first command.
b) as we can see that 10.15.1.101 and 10.15.5.225 are in arp-a table , this concludes two things:
1) there is a device with these ip addresses connected to our network
2) this device is connected to our network in two different ways. May be usinf wi-fi , lan both. because both ips 10.15.1.101 and 10.15.5.225 has the same mac address(device address).
c) 10.15.250.254 is the ip addresss for default gateway. this means that if there is a connection to be established b/w any device in our network to any device outside our network, then it has to pass through gateway so this entry is in the arp-a table by itself (we did not have to ping it).
d) After pinging 10.15.255.255 , we get few new entries in our table because:
10.15.255.255 is the broadcast address for the whole network. if we are pinging this address then that means we are pinging each and every device either connected through ethernet, wifi or whatsover method will respond back to the device which pinged the broadcast address. So all those devices which ping back to the source device, there entry will be made in the arp-a table of the source device.
