Question

The student must read the description of the system given in Section 3 of this document. The student must read theoretical notes provided in Section 4 of this document. The student must develop a requirements specification for the software system which is described in Section 3. The requirements specification must be prepared using the template provided at the end of this document and must contain at least 3 functional requirements and 2 non-functional requirements. According to the developed requirements specification, the student must draw at least 3 system's interface forms by showing transitions between them, as well as informative and error messages. The student must fill-in a testing table which template is given at the end of this document. The testing table must be based on comparison between the developed requirements specification and drawn system's forms. The student must prepare a report by including in it the title page, the developed requirements specification, system's interface forms and testing table. The Library owns 12 000 books. All books can be divided into the following categones: Fiction publicabons; Social saences; Saence; Forelgn literature; Educational books. Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology Riga Technical University "Introduction to Study Field" Each book ts characterized by its title, authors, publishing year, publishing place, and category it belongs to. The most part of books are available in several copies which can be given to readers. However, the last copy of a book cannot be lent out and it can be used only in reading-rooms of the Library. The Library performs the following processes: Registration of a reader - any person can register in the Library. Book search - a reader asks a librarian for a specific book and provides its title, authors, publishing year. The librarian searches the book in card index with aim to find out if the book is available in the Library. The reader can receive one of the following messages: a) the book is available in the Library; b) the book is not available in the Library. Book lending - this activity can be made only after the previous activity. Any registered reader can lend out a book available m the Library. Lending out the book, the librarian registers its Dtie and authors, as well as First name, last name and ID of the reader together with a date when the book must be returned back to the Library in a special inventory document Book return - during this activity the libranan checks the book returned by a reader and removes the record in the inventory document. Usually libranans check how many books were lent and returned during a specific time penod. Each half a year, libranans count books available in the Library, check the number of books hold by readers and compare the acquired number of books with the current total number of books (12 000). If there is difference, then the director of the Library has rights to correct the total number of books in the Ubrary and to delete book cards. After the requirements analysis stage, the design process starts. Main tasks of this stage are the following: The sub-systems (modules) of the software system must be identified; Components of each sub-system must be identified; Data structures and data storages must be defined; Interaction between components must be defined; System's functioning algorithms must be developed; System's interaction with other software systems (operating system, network software, etc.) must be clearly specified; The requirements specification is the first formal document produced in the software development process. It serves as a basis for further activities and documents, inter alia for design documentation and testing documentation. This is a document with a definite structure. It describes requirements to the software system under development acquired during the requirements analysis stage It mainly contains functional and non-functional requirements of the software system. Functional requirements describe functions that must be performed by the software system. Examples of them are the following in relation to a storehouse: The software system must aliow to prepare a report on movement of goods per month; The software system must allow to add new goods to the existent list of goods; Institute of Applied Computer Systems Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology Riga Technical University "Introduction to Study Field" The software system must provide a search function, taking as an input data ID and names of goods. Non-functional requirements descanted different restrictions regarding both the software system under development and the software development process. They can be divided into the following categories:
