The problem: Berta's Pizzeria needs a website where customers may order pizzas.
Description: Customers must register to use the website. Customers may order a small, medium or large sized pizza and select up to 3 toppings. Customers may choose delivery or carry out and add beverages and side items to their orders.
Website Requirements
R1. Customer registration
R1.1 The customer shall enter their information into a website registration form
R1.2 After a customer clicks the “Submit” button, the system shall store a cookie on the customer’s computer and send a verification email to the customer.
R1.3 The customer shall click the link in the verification email to verify their email address to finalize their registration.
R2. Customer order
R2.1 Customers shall have the ability to select pizza size
R2.2 Customers shall have the ability to select up to three pizza toppings
R2.2 The customer shall have the ability to add sides
R2.3 The customer shall have the ability to add beverages
R2.4 The customer shall have the ability to choose delivery or carryout
R3. Customer checkout

Explanation / Answer
The present invention deals with the automation involved in accepting orders sent via instant messenger and from cell phone text messaging, and contemplates an automated system for receiving pizza orders that originate on Simple Message System (SMS) or web browser equipped cell phones, a web based system to pre-configure customer information, a database method to assemble messages in real-time, and a method for transmitting these orders to intended stores using pull mechanism via hyper text transport protocol with dynamic security for low cost, and ease of installation, management and maintenance.You must have ordered your pizzas on phone for home delivery. The process seems easy to use but at times there is miscommunication.
As there is no visual menu shown during a phone call, the employees have to repeat a lot of things again and again to the customers.It’s a time consuming process which at times irritates customers. Also it takes a lot of time of the pizzeria staff.It would be much more comfortable for the customers to have an online pizza ordering system.
Objectives of Online Pizza Ordering System
The main objectives of this ordering system are:
Build your own pizza – This system will help customers in ordering custom pizzas. So the customer will pick exactly the things which he/she wants in their pizza. This will surely enhance the image of the pizzeria and customer satisfaction will be more.
Online Payment- This system will give option to the customer for online payment. This will make pizza buying experience cash free.
Better Knowledge- This system will provide customer all the details of his order before making order. This confirmation will help customers to check the items ordered with their prices.
Know Delivery Time- This system will show the time by which the order will be delivered to the customer. For pick-ups customers can fix the time by which they will pick their order.
Reduce Paper Work- As most of the things will be performed online, it will reduce the usage of paper for the pizzeria.
Improves Efficiency- This system will make things easier for staff as whole ordering process is done by customer only.
