in an excel spreadsheet, when I put HSA in a cell by itself, why does Excel insist on converting it to "HAS" (& what can i do to keep it HSA)?
QUESTION - in an excel spreadsheet, when I put HSA in a cell by itself, why does Excel insist on converting it to "HAS" (& what can i do to keep it HSA)?
one responce - I have no idea-I just played around with it. The only thing I can say is to type it in, don't hit tab or anything just go up to "save as", name your spreadsheet and see if it keeps it in.
my responce - I appreciate the work around, but it didn't work for me (did it for you?) ... one thing I found I could do (though it somewhat compromises the itegrity) is I typed "HSAs" ... making it plural holds (also, putting a period before it, but then it wouldn't filter properly).
another responce - Go into the setups for spell check and click on "ignore all capital letters"
my responce - Interesting. I'll try it just to try it, but unfortunately I'm doing the prep work on an acronym database (SO, the letters ultimately need to be capped)..
Thanks for help !!
Explanation / Answer
Hi..
Excel's AutoCorrect feature is trying to "help" by correcting your supposed typo.
