Question
How to reset Command-C for copy not for "Copy to Scrapbook"
For some reason in Excel the "command-c" shortcut to copy is set to "copy to scrapbook". The result of this is that when I hit command-c it doesn't copy to the clipboard. So, when I then go to use command-v to paste the content I get something else (whatever was last on the clipboard) Additionally
Is there a way to disable the "Copy to Scrapbook" capability or reset the shortcut? I've used Tools->Keyboard Shortcuts to no avail, as the "Copy to Scrapbook" doesn't show up there.
And final note - in the edit menu the "Copy" and "Cut" commands have no shortcut listed to the right of them (command-x works fine for cut)
Any suggestion??
Explanation / Answer
This happened to me as well. No idea how command+c switched from 'Copy' to 'Copy to Scrapbook' but it is crazy frustrating.
The only way I was able to switch it back was to go under to 'Tools menu' > 'Customize Keyboard...'
From there, I selected 'Edit' in the Categories box, and 'Copy' in the Edit box.
Even though Command+C is listed as a shortcut key, I typed Command+C in the 'Press neww shortcut key' box and clicked 'Add'.
It then prompted me that that shortcut was already in use, but I told it to overwrite anywayss.
Hope that works!!!
