How Can I Restore A Default Web Query (the one that grabs Money Market Stock Quotes) that came with Mac Excel 2011?

Hello. I wanted to alter the Money Market Stock Quotes query that comes with Mac Excel 2011. Instead of retrieving the entire page, I only wanted to retrieve the Last price, so I typed in "Last" next to Selection=. The original query text is below. But when I go to run the query, it is now greyed out. Even after putting back "EntirePage" and saving, the query is still greyed out. I have tried quitting Excel and reopening it, but no luck.

If somebody would be so kind as to send me a copy of this file, perhaps pasting a new copy in would work. If you have Excel for Mac, it's in the Applications-Microsoft Office-Office-Queries folder. I would appreciate it very much.

What program did you use to modify/create the queries? What file format did you save as? What type of encoding is used by the program?

If you used TextEdit, its default is to save as Rich Text rather than the old SimpleText [which is what the query files are & what Excel 'looks for']. In the future, go into TextEdit> Preferences> New Document & choose the Plain Text opttion. You can re-save the existing queries using that file type, but for the current existing filess it might be simpler to try this:

When you go into the Choose a Query dialog channge the Enable: to All Files. Odds are the ones you want will light up & be usable.
