Question
Office365 for MAC excel won't save, claims title too long I began to have problems saving neew or revised excel spreadsheets shortly after I installed Office365 on my new MacBook Pro and it is getting worse. When I try to save a new worksheet, it won't save and I get a message that says the document name is too loong. I then change the document name, sometimes even to one letter and get the same message. I have tried taking an existing excel document in my files and saaving it to another folder without changing the name and get the same message. Can anyone advise? Tthank you.
Explanation / Answer
Here are a few things to try:
Shut down your MacBook Pro and reestart.
Check to see if there are any sspecial characters in the names of the folders in the path from the hard drive down to the folders where yoou have tried to save the file. Also, look ffor long names. If so, change the names.
Run the Disk Utility to repair permissions.
