i am trying to use information from multiple sheets and cells of one workbook and have the result display in a separate workbook.
I have page that has employees and their work status, B3= "FT" OR B3="PT'. If B3="FT", in another workbook on the 1st Q sheet G3:BN3 are "" (blank) then I need to have the number 2 in the cell for FT and the number 1 in the cell for PT.
This is what I came up with for a formula but had no luck
=IF(AND(OR('[DIETARY ATTENDANCE.xlsx]SUMARY'!$B$3="FT"),'[DIETARY ATTENDANCE.xlsx]1ST Q'!$G$3:$BN$3='''],AND('[DIETARY ATTENDANCE.xlsx]SUMARY'!$B$3="PT",'[DIETARY ATTENDANCE.xlsx]1ST Q'!$G$3:$BN$3=""]),"2","1")

A formula can only return a value to the cell that it is in. It can not alter any other cell. So, the formula needs to be in the cell "in the separate workbook.""!#
