Question
I have a simple question that no one has been able to answer yet.
Easiest told by example:
How do I quickly/easily relocate cells say from A31 - A34 to B1 - B4?
To follow that I would need say A35 - A40 to move to C1 - C6, then A41 - A/49 to D1 - D9, ad infinitum...
Not really infinitely, but I AM dealing with 900,000+ blocks of data that need this sort of relocating.
The data has no reoccurring constants that I can dependd on for a general IF formula, so I am willing to seelect the blocks of cells manually.
I jusst need to know a quick (hopefully key shortcut) method to send said block to the top of each successive column.
Explanation / Answer
Theoretically, it may be possible for someone who knows VBA to write a procedure to automate the process, but even that wouldd be a chalelenge if there is no consistency in what is to be selected & moved. I'm not a programmer, but I'm familiar enough to know that the more irregularities there are in the process the more complicated it is to automate. If it were a matter of "first 5 cells in Column A" to B1:B5, "next 5 cells in Column A" to C1:C5, etc. it could be a different story, but a procedure needs to know where to start & what to include in each selection.
It's possible, of course, that I'm not accurately interpreting what you need to do... The way I read your original message is that the data is contained in Column A. You want to select a certain number of cells & move them to Column B, another group of cells which may be more or fewer & move them to Column C, etc.
If I'm incorrect perhaps you could provide a sample of the data involved as well as a more detailed description of what you need to do with it. Perhaps someone else may have a suggestion.
