Explanation / Answer
a) inventory, purchasing, billing, employees' hours, and payroll.
Inventory for stock keeping.
purchasing for total purchase.
Billing for profit and total service provided.
Employees'Hours for their day to day activities and timmings.
Payroll for employee data and their salaries.
b) Yes a data dictionary will help.
because in data dictionary data will be sorted and against each key their will be a value associated and no duplicacy will be there.
For Example:- Payroll system dictionary will have all the records about the employees payroll and because it will be in sorting order data searching will be fast.
c) Integrate the Inventory,Purchase and Billing system because they are inter related with each other.
From inventory we come to know how much stock we have and purchase tell us how much we have puchased and billing tell us about our sales of stock and selling of service. so based on their integration we can calculate when we have to do the purchasing and how much.
Employees'hour and payroll system shoul be integrated so that we can calculate the employee salary based on his/her working hours.
d) Best way to conceptualise the Database is using ER Diagram because it has all the capabilities to represent a database diagram graphically and not even a single aspect is left behind while designing database.we should use relational database model.
e) Sales & Service report -
from the billing system to know the sales of spare parts in a week, month or year to forcast the future sales or sales analysis whether the sales has incread or decreased or how much we are earning from selling spare parts and how much we are earning from service.it can be used by managers.
Salary Report - How much we have paid and how much we have to pay and what's the total expense from salary.Used by finance deprtment or managers.
Working Hours Report. - To know how much time a worker is spending in the office and its utilisation. used by HR department or managers.
Stock Report.- It is used to know the current stock availabe and how much more we need to purchase.TO know the optimum level of stock.Used by inventory people and managers.
