1) imread is a MATLAB function which reads information from picture files and stores the information in an array. The format of the array is: Select one: a. One dimensional for black and white images and two dimensional for coloured images. b. Two dimensional for both black and white images and coloured images. c. Three dimensional for both black and white images and coloured images. d. Two dimensional for black and white images and three dimensional for coloured images e. Three dimensional for black and white images and two dimensional for coloured images A picture with 1388050 pixels is represented as a matrix in MATLAB with dimensions 1775 x y z 3. What is the value of y? Answer:Explanation / Answer
1) d
Explaination :
Let we have an black and white image of size 200x300. Length=200 and height=300.
So, while storing it in computer, we have 2 dim array where (i,j) is any cell stores the intensity level of that pixel from 0-255 [0 means black and 255 white].
While in case of colored image, we have to store red, green and blue information. So, we require 3 dim array. e.g. consider colored 200x300 image. We stored this image in [200][300][3] array where (i,j,1) stores red information, (i,j,2) is for green and (i,j,3) for blue information.
Hopes it cleared you.
2)782
Explaination: As explained in previous example, each cell in array store pixel information.
So, in case of 1775 x y x 3 image, we have 1775*y pixels (3 is just to represent colored image and for colored image, no of pixels is same as black white image), so 1775y=1388050
=> y=780
Hopes it cleared you.
