Feedback is something that is an essential part of good communication. It's a piece of the puzzle that if ignored or left out can really change the overall picture that is created. It is the way we learn from others what and how they are perceiving our message. That provides us with a measurement/evaluation tool that we can either use to improve our communication or we can recognize as an honest assessment. Either way it is a useful part of any communication.
When that feedback is advice -- requested or simply offered -- it can become more of a double-edged sword. And, of course, it is up to any of us to listen and use advice as we see fit. Still, that sometimes doesn't make it easy.
What if the advice is not wanted? What if the advice doesn't fit into your culture? What if the advice means taking a chance? What if the advice doesn't make sense? Thoughts? Anyone? In about 250 words.
Explanation / Answer
Advice is a form of suggestion given with the point of view of their personal opinion. A person gives advice based on their own perception and past experiences.ie. If that person would have been in similar situation as you are then the advice would have been better for him if he would have been in the similar situation. When advice is not wanted it is completely our choice to reject the advice, in this case advice can be accepted just as a suggestion but decision to implement the advice is completely in our own hands. Is any point from the advice is beneficial for us than only that point should be accepted.
Each person has been presented by different life experiences and past experiences advice given by this person is laced with his previous perception. If any person is giving an advice it should not be taken for granted but we should understand that persons frame of mind and it also gave us insight into that persons thought process which can be beneficial for us in one way or the other.
But the decision except the advice is completely our choice.
