They also offer service contracts to help users maintain and upgrade the software on a continuing basis. Briefly outline the strategies that these companies might use to expand their market share in the PRC.

Explanation / Answer

Assume that you are working for the marketing department of Microsoft China. Compile a list of briefing points that would help your salespeople convince top executives of large PRC companies to use Windows operating software on their networks.

As a Microsoft sales person, the briefing points that I would use to convince top executives at PRC to use Windows operating software on their networks include:

Microsoft chief- Gao, reported Microsoft reported Microsoft research centres (China & Beijing) are completing the next phase of voice-recognition. PRC hasn't even started R&D on technologies such as voice recognition.

The Microsoft Corporation has another research centre in Shanghai- The company (facility) in Shanghai, is working for the greater good/part of the community, helping laid-off workers re-enter the workforce, making flood donations, and creating schools for 'our' children. Does PRC have such community focus...? I think not.

Microsoft is training 10,000 software engineers, reinforce that fact- there helping laid-off workers re-enter the workforce.

China needs Microsoft- there a billion dollar company as who is able to invest $900 million into China's software companies within two-to-three years.

Everyone is used to the Windows interface and functions.

The objective of the above briefing points is to create an image of Microsoft- one which is positive to all members of the community.
