Explanation / Answer
1. Speedup = n*k / k+ (n-1)
where n = no of instruction
k = no of stage
since no of instruction is 2.7 millions so we can ignore the intial filling and final emtying of pipeline since it need very few instructions. Therefor speedup is factor of five.
2. Througput
since one inst per cyle. so it require 1/(1.8 * 10^9) sec.
so throughput = 1/(1/(1.8*10^9)) = 1.8 * 10^9 = 1800MIPS
