It is important to be perceived as a transformational leader because of the significant impact it has on the followers. Northouse (2013) says, "(transformational leadership) includes assessing followers’ motives, satisfying their needs, and treating them as full human beings" (pg. 185). In essence, a transformational leader sees followers as a valuable asset. How often is this the case or has this been the case for you in your professional experience? How did leadership make you and/or colleagues feel valued (not valued)? What was the effect on the collective? For the individual? How do you let your colleagues know you value their contributions? How often is this the case or has this been the case for you in your professional experience?

This has not happened much with me, just on few occassions. I have observed that it creates a lot of satisfaction in people's minds through such leadership initiatives.

How did leadership make you and/or colleagues feel valued (not valued)?

Leadership made me as well as colleagues feel valued since it created a sense of belongingness and respect towards each others. It also led to mutual admiration and happiness.

What was the effect on the collective?

Collective group felt that the tasks or goals which you want to achieve as a group can be achieved through each other's support.

For the individual?

Individual value is enhanced and confidence gets built up in you through respect.

How do you let your colleagues know you value their contributions?

By talking to them about how much valuable they are to me and how important is their work for my tasks to be completed. Also by knowing what they want to achieve and how can I contribute in that, it becomes easy to let them know about it.

What is the effect on the collective?

As a collective group a sense of satisfaction and respect towards your work and other members of the group comes.

For the individual?

Individual feels motivated to work and perform his/her best since he/she receives adulation for the work he/she performs.
