Once a memory failure has been detected, identifying the defective module is not an easy task either. With a large variety of motherboards provided by different manufacturers around the world, and with the many different combination of SIMM/DIMM slots provided, it would be difficult if not impossible to assemble a comprehensive troubleshooting approach to how a particular memory error would map to a failing memory module. When there is an apparent failure of your PC system memory there are typically a few different possible causes. The most common causes of memory failure greatly depend on whether the memory is used in an existing system or was just recently assembled or upgraded.
