Question 1
part A
Going clockwise around the color circle, wavelength increases as you go from blue (450nm) to cyan (500 nm), to green (550 nm), and so on. In between red (650 nm) and blue however, lies a quadrant of non-spectral purples. Are the wavelengths of these purples below 450 nm, above 650 nm, or something else altogether?
Part B
Who hears high frequencies better a 60-year-old or a 30-year-old? Why?
Part C
A high-fidelity loudspeaker creates sound when a diaphragm in the shape of a flattened cone vibrates back and forth. The forward movement creates waves of compression, and the backward movement creates rarefaction. These movements create a complete sound pressure cycle. If the tone goes through 1,000 cycles per second what is the frequency of the sound being produced?
Note: please be breif just two to three sentence is enough
Explanation / Answer
A. The spectral colors violet and indigo are not purples according to color theory, but they are purples according to common English usage since they are between red and blue. However, in the wavelengths of these purples are below 45 nm.
