Please complete a written assignment responding to one of the three questions below and complete a 1-2 page response by the date noted. Papers should be double-spaced with no larger than 12 pt. font, typed and submitted to me via Blackboard. You do not need to use foot notes or end notes or do any research outside the textbook and notes. The purpose of this assignment is to see if you can apply the concepts of the class to a real-world situation. In order to receive full credit, your answers must reflect an application of the key concepts indicated at the end of the question.

Your successful campaign was built around the promise to address illegal immigration, improve education, increase access to health care, and make sure the death penalty is applied fairly. Given what you know about the powers of the governor (formal and informal), explain how you will do these things and the obstacles you may face. Explanation / Answer

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to people. I will fight every day for all my hardworking citizens and work for the better tomorrow.

During My campaigns I promised to address some of the key areas:

The future of Texas cannot begin without the topic of education. Education is something that helps the person make his way up and out of poverty. So it must be a rule to get education. In coming years 60% of jobs in Texas would require training and education beyond highschool.

Also Texas college tuition fees and students debts are such high that they are making college less accessible for the common people. Thus making individuals never meet their dreams and leaving company miss the trained skilled workers that they need.

I worked on the same and have come up with a plan to better our education so that no citizen is left devoid of future opportunities

2.ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Texas has second highest Number of illegal immigrants in the state. In my view of all the issues our state confronts, this is the most solvable and would do the most to help us grow and prosper

We have drawn much of our strength by having people come here and add to energy of our country and contributing in its growth. They are the most productive citizens because they made such difficult and challenging choice. Such are the driven people who took the risk of rising up and move. As a result our country has got the bunch of talented and committed citizens who raised our standards.

So in my view our national policy should continue to encourage immigration by bringing in new people and help them and our country grow together.

Following are few steps to set immigration policy:

To issue blue cards which in case we come across people who have come illegally an acted inappropriately. Blue card means giving legal status but not citizenship

3.Increase access to healthcare : Throughout state, our Texans experience delays in treatment, difficulty in finding healthcare professionals and lack of access to safe and affordable Care.

Following are some steps that can will be implemented in our state:

4..Death penalty: This is the most controversial issue.

Death penalty supporters say , once executed, a violent criminal will nedr harm again. True but there is no evidence that death penalty is superior to alternative of life without parole.

In my view I believe not having a death penalty would not make a difference in public safety. The things that make difference are more police on streets, more investigations tolls better rehabilitation program for drug abusers better intervention and counselling facility for abusive household. So why waste million dollars on a death penalty, when saving can be invested in above mentioned program. And thus ensuring public safety.

As the governor I know would face some obstacles but with your support and awareness i will use my power, personality and media to effectively govern the state.
