Steven disagrees firstly that it confused the mainstream media reporting of science with the science itself. Secondly by having an incorrect image of how science progresses over time.
2. eating fatty food to stay slim and fit is a myth. reducing fat intake and more exercise is the only way to stay fit and healthy.no other easy way.
3.The US Food Pyramid was, at its best, and gave a representation of our current understanding of the science, even though we knew that the science which they present is incomplete. In an applied science, they made decisions and recommendation based on incomplete facts bout science. When new evidence comes to light, the recommendations change and this need to get updated, but they fail to do so.they are at fault for being too slow to adapt to changing evidence, but that is the error of the government agencies, and not the underlying science.
4. By incomplete science the author i guess refers to the data collected from all the different countries, their food habits, their health, weight, activity etc into consideration and not give the recomendation based on the USA alone. this is what makes sciencde incomplete.
5. observational studies are the variables that are not reliable. thus they are unwanted variables according to the author.
