Explanation / Answer
a) Angina pectoris is the type of chest pain or discomfort due to coronary heart disease. It occurs when the heart muscle does not get as much as blood as it needs. This usually happens because of one or more of the hearts arteries is narrowed or blocked, which is also called as Ischemia.
b) The circulation of blood refers to its continual flow from the heart, through branching arteries,to reach and traverse the miucoscopic vessels in all parts of the body, reconverging in the veins an returning to the heart,to flow through the lungs and back to the heart to start the circuit again. The uninterrupted movement of the blood is necessary to maintain the supply of oxygen from the lungs nad nutrients from the gut,as well as for the distribution of harmones and the delivery of waste for excretion.
c) Angina is experienced more frequently during exercise because the heart recieves signals from the brain to do more work. This means the heart beats harder to pump more blood to fuel the body. The second thing during exercise the demand of oxygen is increased and the heart muscle cannot cope and angina symptoms are triggered.
Syptoms include: Chest pain symptoms can vary - some may feel sharp pain pressure, tightness, shortness of breath etc.., or little at all. Women are more likely than men to experience uncommon symptoms. People with diabetes may also have abnormal symptoms, which are vague and difficult to diagnose -- fatigue, altered mental status, or pain that changes in severity
d) Glyceryl trinitrate or more commonly known as GTN belongs to a group of drugs called nitrates that contain the chemical nitric oxide.GTN is a medication used for heart failure, high blood pressure and to treat and prevent chest pain from not enough blood flow to the heart, and also controls the blood flow during the course of an operation. This is available as a tablet, spray, ointment and as an injection.
Effect of blood vessels:
These have been designed to allow the blood vessels in the body to relax and widen allowing more blood to flow through them,so that more oxygen can be carried in the blood and the heart does not have to work so hard to keep up the demands of the tissues and the resistance caused by the build ups in the vessels
