Explanation / Answer

Based on the given tests result, M K. Is a candidate for the postpartum RHIG that is rhesus immunoglobulin. RhIG is a form of antibodies against Rh antigen D. It is given to the D negative mother during third trimester of pregnancy and within 72 hours after delivery of a D positive baby. If mother is Rhesus negative and baby is rhesus positive then the antibodies are formed against the baby Rh antigen by the mother's body. This antibodies take baby as foreign antigen and tries to destroy them causing erythroblastosis fetalis . Thus in order to prevent further loss of baby, Rh iso immunisation is done to the mother by giving Rh immunoglobulin, during pregnancy and after delivery within 72 hours.
