There are mainly four types of tissue in human body-

1. Epithelial Tissue- Covers body surface and lines internal organ body cavity. There are four types of epithelial tissue namely Squamous, Columnar, Cuboidal, Transitional.

For example- surface epithelial, mucus lining, glandular cells

2. Connective tissues- General function of this tissue is to provide support to the body structure. Examples of connective tissue are blood, bone, cartilage, lymphatic,dense and loose connective tissue.

3. Muscular Tissue- there are three types of muscle tissue in our body namely smooth muscle, skeletal muscle and cardiac muscle.

4. Nervous tissue- these tissue and composed of nerve cells and glia. Nerve cells function as signal transmitter and glia cells work for protection of nerve cells. These are present in central nervous system and peripheral nervous system.

Classification of Epithelial tissues:-

1. Simple Epithelium:- a)simple squamous epithelial, b) simple cuboidal epithelial, c) non ciliated simple columnar epithelial, d) ciliated simple squamous epithelial cells

2. Stratified Epithelium:- a)stratified squamous epithelial, b) stratified cuboidal epithelial, c) stratified columnar epithelial, d) transitional epithelial.

3. Pseudo stratified columnar epithelial

Glandular epithelial cells:- endocrine gland and exocrine gland.
