Question

Ethics
(EQ17 (FC) () How does the "game-theoretic" account of the State of Nature in terms of the celebrated "Prisoners' Dilemma" model help illustrate the contractarian argument? Is it a fair assessment that the model effectively captures the discrepancy between individual rationality and collective rationality (i.e., Pareto-optimality) in the absence of civilized order based on moral consent? Explain your answer. Is it a plausible interpretation from this account that after all, there is a "convergence" of moral maxim between religious ethics and secular ethics? Explain your answer.

Explanation / Answer

Game theory is a theory that is a model of an interactive situation This theory has the wide range of applications such as psychology, evolutionary biology. The prisoners dilemma emphasis that why two individual would not cooperate although it is to the of their interest, actually it is a mutual recognition that constitutes rightfulness or wrongness. It appears the act unjustifiable in one's eye is justifiable in others views.

Preto optimality defines as the situation of one person cannot become better unless the situation of another person becomes verse it is in economy indirectly connected. Each unit of productive services or goods is at its maximum use and cannot go beyond that this depends upon efficiency, production efficiency, and output efficiency. It is the utility like the welfare of one person is increased only when the welfare of another is reduced same way when the utility is maximized it reverses. It is connected to individual rationality and collective rationality in a manner that rationality is the core assumption of economics. People do not always make the correct decision. As can be seen in cases where uncertainty makes an individual to take a decision like storing food without taking into account the outcome of such storing the result appears as a shortfall in supply of food items and increase in price, this is an example if individual decision acting collectively in increasing the prices. This creates more fear of instability, increasing the food price, making it scarcer.

Religion and moral if taken as intermingled or two separate identities, Religion teaches moral, but atheist o have morals. Moral can be taken as one's personality developed by its surrounding and understanding, or it can be an outcome of following certain norms led down by religions. There is an argument that morality is a part of religion or it is human behavior. The humanitarians are also finding it difficult to separate God from morals
