(Answer) The two songs that are, in a way, close to the concept of “madrigalisms” are:
This song is a musical manifestation of the famous “I have a dream” speech by Martin Luther King. The song is an artistic rendition of the speech, in that is talks about dreaming of a future that is full of hope, music and love. The song, like the speech, alludes to how the current reality might not be as beautiful as the singer/ speaker might like but, there is a dream that envisions a future that beautiful.
The song itself might have just a few words from the speech and words that don’t particularly stick to verbatim. However, the song attempts to trigger a sense of recognition for the listener who might think of MLK’s speech and then feel the essence of the speech through the song.
This is a song where Michael Jackson has used tropes from history to talk about wars and differences between nations. The song has texts in the form of news clippings and the video highlights events through old newsreels. Therefore, this song highlights texts in the forms of audio news clips and visually through video clips. The song is, therefore, a montage of Soundbites from important texts of history and the song itself.
The song goes on to beg the question that, how many wars have to be fought until the humans realise that it does more damage to themselves than good? Jackson has therefore used the ait of old clips to help trigger the memory of major past events in history in order to aid the point that he is trying to make through his song.
