Explanation / Answer

Aristotle says moral virtue as a mean between extremes, the extremes are deficiency and excess. It is a disposition to behave in a right way, having right attitude towards pain and pleasure. In simple words, morals are matter of performing well the task of being human. It is obtained mainly through habit and practice.

For example, fear and confidence. In this, courage is the mean; rashness is the excess while cowardice is the deficiency.

Another example is pleasure and pain. Here mean is temperance; licentiousness is the excess and insensibility is the deficiency.

The good measure of morals are actions based on choices because some acts are involuntary and one cannot be held responsible for it.
