In my view the ever increasing popularity of social media has given way to a novel crimes such as revenge pornography. For example, Chrissy Chambers, 26, had explicit videos of her uploaded to the internet by her ex partner. Social media has also made it easier for criminals to track their potential victims and their possessions. The Kim Kardashian robbery that took place in Paris serves as example of this.
