Question

Very good observations so far, especially about the question of how pretty Ms. Fernee is to the commenters. Let's take a look at the ways in which imagery can shape popular opinion.

As you've indicated in our introductions, the internet and all social media now make up a regular part of our daily lives. How does this help to create our ideas? Take a look at one publication's list for the most controversial instagrams of 2016 (right click or hold your finger on the link to open it in a new tab):

Looking through the list, what do you notice about these controversies? Do they have anything in common? If so, what?

Explanation / Answer

I think what is common in all these controversial posts is trolling on the social media. Social media has provided a space for everyone to voice their opinions. So when some people's opinion clash with other's opinion on the same thing it raises controversy. Like some of the pictures were about photoshopping images and reducing waste sizes etc, which may distort the perception of beauty on impressionable minds, so they are criticized, so most people have just backed out from those kind of editing when backlashed by the people. Then some are about expressing women sexuality. Basically it was a showcase of opinions on different subjects and showcase of lifestyles.
