Psychology can be very different from common daily discussions related to human behavior and functioning. Psychology is a broad and diverse area that is concerned with many different aspects of the person and our lives (Schacter, Gilbert, & Wegner, 2011; Schacter, Gilbert, Wegner, & Nock, 2015). Psychology as a science produces insight into complex animal psyche and behavior through theory and experimental replication.

Psychology is one field that can transform the lives in many areas such as family, society and workplace. Psychology can be applied right from the birth of a child till the death and it could play a very significant role in education. I think psychology would help me better understand myself in terms of my emotions, feelings, attitude, personality etc. thus making me a better person to interact with others, understand others and work with others cordially. It would help me understand and appreciate cultural diversity and overcome all the biases and assumptions because it’s not the color, race or social status that would determine one’s ability and skills but it’s the opportunities that is provided for them and the efforts an individual makes in becoming a better person that matters a lot. If I work in an educational set-up, I would be able to understand children and motivate them to understand themselves and help them bring out their capabilities.
