Explanation / Answer

Genetically Modified Foods are foods that are obtained from organisms that have been genetically altered using the techniques of Genetic engineering. Thus using the molecular biological techniques of genetic engineering a gene of the desired trait may be knocked in or an undesired trait knocked out. For example, a plant may be made drought resistant by knocking a gene of drought resistance in the plant. Some foods in our industrial food supply are the various dairy products that are pasteurized. Supply of milk is a classical example of industrialized food supply as the milk is pasteurized; bottled and then supplied in this industrial food supply chain. The name of at least one corporation that is controlling our food supply is: Dole Food Company as this company is the world's largest producer of fruit and vegetables. This company Dole controls the supply of the fruit and vegetables as it is the producer of these fruits and vegetables. The company controls the supply chain at the very beginning i.e. the farming.
