This question has it's origins in the "Talent" topic on beginning on page 125 of the SG. As we grow older many factors will influence our goals. In reflecting upon your educational and career goals : 1. What has influenced your goals. 2. Have your goals changed greatly over the years? 3.Do you consider the ethical impact of your decision on society or do you feel it is a personal decision that will not effect society? 4. Do you feel as a society we do not value certain professions/ employment because they do not pay well. Can you identify some very necessary and difficut jobs that are not paid well.

Explanation / Answer

1). My educational and career goals are influenced by several family, social and financial factors. During childhood, I had a great passion towards becoming a police, but during my high school, one of my family members has died from cancer, which stimulated me to research in the field of cancer treatment. So, I decided to become a doctor and due to the financial situation, I worked hard to get scholarships.

2). In the above case, the educational and career goals were influenced by the social, family and financial factors. The goals changed greatly over the years according to the changes occurred.
