Explanation / Answer

Q1.

A) To what extent should animals be given rights or comparable to humans?

Animals can be given some rights as well. I'm not saying that they should be given respect for autonomy or informed consent, but at least if they are used for meat, they should be handled in a much better way. At least, they could be given some pain killers while being decapitated. Also beating with metal rods is not justice to any living being.

B) How human division between the rights of animals and humans are justified

These division of rights are not justified. Yes, complete rights cannot be given to the animals since we don't understand their language, but yes at least better living conditions and respect for the fact that they are living beings itself, has to be taken care of. Just because they can't convey the pain in our language, we should not assume that they don't have any pain at all.

C) Should children and humans who have severe mental retardation or reasoning disabilities not be given same rights as fully reasoning adult humans.

No. All the rights, except making their own decisions on major issues, cannot be given to them. The only reason is that they don't have the same cognitive abilities to make clear decisions as a mentally sound person would be able to. But, respect for autonomy and informed consent in the presence of a caregiver or an adult has to be done. Also, in the most simple ways, the family and caregiver can take care and control any erratic behaviour that such individuals may be doing.

D) Should animals have the same rights as humans because they have pleasure and pain

Yes, most of the rights should be same. Right to a proper life should be given. At least how the slaughter house handlers are treating these animals is not acceptable. If humans , in absolute compulsion, want to consume meat, the animals need to be given some respect.

E) What is the animal rights mean for eating animals or how livestock is raised.

The manner in which livestock is raised in this video is unacceptable. The animals are not allowed to even rest by sitting down, that's how cramped places they are put in. Not on,y is this behaviour inhuman but a person wouldn't even treat the worse of their enemies in this manner, let alone their future food.
