1. Superordinate goal are defined as the goals that require tow or more than two people to complete. It is basically a group task which will provide a good reward to whole group or team.
2.Sherif has proposed a test to check if the prejudice is caused by competition between an in group and out group. This test also demonstarted that intergroup conflict could be reduced by the introduction of superordinate goals. Example of superoinate goup as given by Sherif: He made two groups and called them for comepetition. Now, the superordinate goasl that he inroduced are common goals that require all group members to work together to resolve the conflict like cleaning the water tank, etc.
