Week 2 Discussion - Research and Investigation
Have you ever had a question about the way something works? Reflect on questions you have had about the world around you. How did you find out an answer to your question?
Think about something that is interesting to you. It could be a sport, a hobby, music, film, just about anything that you find intriguing. When you first became interested, how did you find out about the subject?
If you were to develop a new interest, how would you go about learning about it? YouTube? Books? Others who are interested?
Reflect on the information you have learned so far about the sociological imagination and the theoretical perspectives. Compare the way you might learn about an unknown subject and how a sociological researcher goes about discovering new ideas about society.
This is a reflective exercise intended to get you in the habit of thinking about the world around you. Your response should be at least 400 words. Be sure to include reference to the text and other scholarly material.
Explanation / Answer
Q: Have you ever had a question about the way something works? Reflect on questions you have had about the world around you. How did you find out an answer to your question? A: Yes, many times I had a question about the way something works: I believe it works as per Nature's laws or divine laws. The world around me is running towards empty hallucinations. Nobody knows when a human being will realize his mistakes. Everything called modernity spoils his life. The only answer is delivered by great people: he has to return back to a normal, natural and simple life. Humans should return to nature: he must live along with it, without spoiling it! Q: Think about something that is interesting to you. It could be a sport, a hobby, music, film, just about anything that you find intriguing. When you first became interested, how did you find out about the subject? A: Literature is very much interesting to me. I also like good classical music, good art films and artistic theatrical plays, and story-telling. I first found about them from a library book. Then, I found some friends in the literature circle. This way, I became a writer myself. Q: If you were to develop a new interest, how would you go about learning about it? YouTube? Books? Others who are interested. A: If I were to develop a new interest, I would go about learning about it through all modern means like internet, YouTube, books, forums, FB pages, blogs and also from other real humans who are interested in the same field.
