Explanation / Answer

Technical communication is a way to find, use and share informations at workplace. Or it involevs creating and sharing of ideas. In general communication is completed by listening, speaking, reading and writting in workplace and this can be fullfilled by using different methods and tools like email/computer, telephone etc. But in todays era when a company wants to communicate about its products in public, it uses words, graphics and designs very effectively to attract readers.

Technical communication is only about communication in workplace to sell your products, to get promotion and to coomunicate about technical fields eg; engineering etc. Professionals often use four (istening, speaking, reading and writting ) communication skills to create, design, and transmit technical information so that people can understand it easily and use it safely, effectively, and efficiently. You can get technical information by reading textbooks, computer-based training videos, procedures manuals, Web sites, owner’s manuals.

Almost every technical document has six major characteristics: it addresses particular readers, helps readers solve problems, reflects the organization’s goals and culture, is produced collaboratively, uses design to increase readability, and consists of words or images or both. And given document is perfect example of it.

Now part _1 - how company used words, graphics and designs to communicate different information can be understood as, in this document both the words and pictures are used to give information. the given image is collaborative one as it gives the highlighted words which tells the use of both the products seperately. Both the products are shown seperately, one on each half of the page. Pointers are written clearly to inform about functioning and features that are easily understandable to the reader. Colours and graphics are used to highlight the key features that makes effortless reading for the reader or reader catches these things easily at first sight. if we see both the products' words-"print" for first product and "print, copy, scan, fax" for another are in different and large font and also in differnt colours and these techniques of writting content attract the reader easily and help reader to get idea about the products easily. Once reader gets idea about the product he/she can go for pointers of any product as per requirement.

part -2 company has used a simple and understandable design to help readers understand that this page has two different products. Here company try tries to make product more attractive and readable.

1. First is design of the page, by half partition and placing products seperately in each half.

2. Second is steps to present product starting from chief function then high quality and coloured image and followed by using pointers rather than using paragraph to describe features of the product.

3. In the second product which is multifunctional, the controlling part is shown separatly with descriptions of important buttons on it.

Part_ 3- Use of colour in the document. Colours are used very creatively which are appealing and makes content easily readable as well as visible. For first product starting from "Print" word the product name and subheading are displayed in one colour (red) and similarly for second product, different shades of blue colour are used. Reader can easily diffentiate between two products at first sight. Subparts of the second product is also coloured to segregate their speciality/functioning. In first product multicolour sheet is used to make it beautiful and attractive.

Hence this document communicates large amount of quality information through best combination of words, graphics and designs. And helps readers to get right and complete information in small document. This way of technical communication is most effective and helps costumers as well as increases bussiness of the company.
