Explanation / Answer

1. The Maslow's theory of motivation applies most to me with respect to taking a course or a program as I am clearly driven by the esteem needs. I would describe this in terms of my desire to acquire knowledge to boost my personal worth and accomplish the understanding of a subject. I wouldn't say that the same theory applies all the time because in a work place environment, I would prefer adopting Herzberg's two factor model of motivational and hygiene factors.

2. I would adhere more to the appraisal theory of emotional responses because I do believe that emotions, in terms of its physiological manifestions, is essentially the same. Emotional arousal is accompanied by similar sets of internal responses such as increased heart beat, blood pressure, breathing rate etc. It is actually the perception of the environment around us that leads us to label that emotion.
