Answer 1) According to scientific research 'Authority' is the only component amongst the listed components which is not required for scientific thinking.

Answer 2) Option B which states that 'When compared with those who take notes from pen/pencil, the ones who use the laptops during learning sessions score better' does not trend in the research findings. This is because the motor and cogitive abilities are highly correlated and work together in learning new things.

Answer 3) If you assess whether conclusions are based on existing evidence, you are using Critical Thinking which is Option A. Critical thinking enables one to evaluate and analyse an issue with objectivity and relevance.
