1 the glycoproteins layer around the oocyte is called Zona pellucida. This layer is composed of various carbohydrates and protein structures known as ZP proteins . Various ZP proteins forms different types of channels in this relatively hard and protective layer which thereby permits permeation of various Marco molecules .

2. The external layer in secondary follicle is known as Theca externa.

3. The internal layer is called theca interna and it secretes estrogen.
