LOW ACTH, LOW CRH AND HIGH CORTISOL
Relationship between ACTH and CORTISOL:
ACTH Hormone is produced in anterior pituitary gland by CRH stimulating hormone which is produced in the hypothalamus.
ACTH hormone secretion is directly affected or inhibited by Cortisol hormone which is produced in adrenal gland.
Any diseases or disturbance of adrenal gland leads to improper secretion of CORTISOL Hormone.
Adrenal enlargement:
Adrenal gland enlargement leads to high secretion of cortisol hormone, so it turn to lower ACTH and CRH. Cortisol is responsible hormone to control blood sugar, blood pressure, antiinflammation, metabolism.
