macula lutae is the yellow oval part present in center of retina.it contains high concentration of cone cells.these are the photo receptor cells which are resposible for colour vision or vision in bright light.this area useful for sharp vision.
in the macular degeneration detoriatiion macula luate occur which leads to complete loss of central vision because macula lutae is the organ which is responsible for central vision and acuity.
dialation pupil results in clear distance vision and constriction of pupil results in clear near vision.
cycloplegia is the condition in which paralysis of cilliary muscle occur.it results in the loss of accomodation(unable to change the shape of lens.because of paralysis of cillary muscle the curvature of lens can no longer be adjusted to focus on near vision.so the patient have difficulty with near vision.
use of scopolomine is better than use of atropine.
