Explanation / Answer

1. Exercise implies increase in muscular activity, increased rate and force of contraction of muscles hence increased internal respiration and metabolism. Therefore there is increase in oxygen and nutrition demand. Hence there is increase in heart rate in an effort to send more blood to the demanding areas. Since the volume of blood pumped out by the heart increases, the volume returning to the right atrium also increases (end diastolic volume). This leads to greater SBP as the heart contracts with more force to send the larger volume of blood into the organs.

2. Factors affecting hr measurement

Excercise, emotion, sympathetic stimulation increases hr.

Pregnancy raises hr due to hormonal causes.

Chronic kidney disease raises hr.

3.athletes have a long training procedure. Therefore their body becomes conditioned in such a way that each heartbeat delivers more oxygen to the tissues than that of a regular person. But the cardiac output which is the volume of blood pumped by the heart in a minute is the product of hr and stroke volume ( volume pumped in one beat) . Since the latter is higher in athletes the hr decreases to keep stroke volume constant.

4. In the given condition the hr will be erratic by palpation.
