In the current business environment, there is some discussion about the ethics of product safety and particularly about the issue of liability. There are a great many products and services potentially available on the market whose use may pose some risks to users. In some cases, we prohibit sale altogether, or significantly restrict access. In some cases, we allow sale but require inclusion of "warning" information. In some cases, we have no restrictions but allow injured users to sue sellers for damages under a variety of theories of liability.

For this discussion, consider the issue of marijuana and specifically the question of under what conditions, if any, it should be legally available in South Dakota.

“Marijuana is dried blossom of Cannabis Sativa and Cannabis Indica plant. According to study in 2017, 44% of Americans use Marijuana on a regular basis.”

Marijuana is consumed for centuries for medicinal purposes, as a hemp for rope making, as a recreational drug etc.

Historically Marijuana was first seen in the US in early 20th century basically associated with imports from Mexico, it is condemned due to its intoxicating impact and is associated and linked to say no alcohol campaigns. It is also seen as being condemned for being used in crimes and by anti-social groups. Legally it is banned by the US government.

The Drug has been voted for legalizing in nine states for use in medicines and for recreational purposes restricted and limited use under license.

According to me, it should be allowed legally in South Dakota for the following purposes:

1. Medicinal purposes for use in medicines for patients with critical illness like HIV, cancer, seizures etc. It helps to dull the pain and relax the patients. 23 states have allowed of Marijuana for medicinal purposes.

2. It should be allowed for recreational purposes in specific places in limited quantities with restriction in use. This will prevent from illegal buying and selling and the misuse of the drug by the drug sellers who command a huge price due to risks involved in illegal supplying.

The legalizing of Marijuana will help remove many social problems and reasons for law enforcement which are as follows:

Lastly, if the trade was legalized the government would save $8 billion that government spends now on law enforcement for FBI and USA- Mexico border crime including Marijuana crimes.

To sum it up many of anti-social and criminal activities can be countered by legalizing Marijuana in South Dakota.
