Question
I have a six-page paper on stressors. My stressor is a recent disagreement i had with a supervisor who is known for trying to use fear and intimidation on his employees. I have a family (4 kids and a wife) with bills that need to be paid. Having this stressor, What three behavioral strategies could i implement to reduce the effects of this stressor? Being very thorough in the answer. Explain how each behavior could cause changes in brain physiology (e.g., exercise can raise serotonin levels). What two scholarly sources could i use for information regarding this topic?
Explanation / Answer
Cortisol is the stress hormone, which when rises, puts the body into a state of alarm. This leads to the person being in a state of fight or flight which puts strain not only on the physical body but also on the mental health of the person.
Stress is common in today's time, and most of the population seems to be suffering from its slow but harmful effects.
In rdee to lower stress there are certain techniques that can be used to alleviate the anxiety.
One can try meditation, it is known to calm the mind and body, and helps to keep the thoughts in check. It is shown in research that meditation has a major impact on the amygdala. It is known to decrease it brain cell, as it is responsible for all the stress and anxiety.
It is also known in thickening the cortical thickness of the hippocampus, which is responsible for an individuals memory and learning.
The other thing thst can be done is sleeping on time. Sleeping is the bodies way of repairing itself and depleting as a consequence the cortisol that may have been flooded in the body through out the day. The right amount of sleep, not more not less is rudimentary.
The next is exercising, which helps the flooding of the happy hormone serotonin in the body which helps keep a healthy state of mind as well.
